With an exciting rhythm and classic sound, salsa originally comes from the Caribbean. Puerto Rico is one of the first popular exporters and I must say one of my favourite artists is a Puerto Rican national that you all may know as Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband. The serene lyrical flow and velvety voice of Marc Anthony will keep anyone with a heart singing along. This is a playlist I like to listen to when I'm feeling fiery and passionate. I consider this to be a Classic Salsa playlist rather than a old school salsa playlist as most of the songs are between the late 70's and late 90's.

Oh the dear, soft and romantic genre of Bachata... With lyrics that will break or mend any heart, Bachata uses sweet voices and the smooth vibes of acoustic guitar to steal your girl any day. With Aventura being one of the staple Bachata groups of the early 2000's, here I share with you my top 10 "old school" Bachata songs. I may or may not have cried to all these songs before.
1. Yo Si Me Enamore - Huey Dunbar (2001)
2. Obsesión - Aventura (2002) 3. Hoja en Blanco - Monchy y Alexandra (1999) 4. Todavia Me Amas - Aventura (2002) 5. Enseñame a Olvidar - Aventura (2002) 6. Amor de Madre - Aventura (2002) 7. Un Beso - Aventura (2005) 8. Llorar - Aventura (2006) 9. Te extraño - Xtreme (2005) 10. Cuando Volveras - Aventura (2003)
This playlist is special to me as it has my favourite "old school" Reggaeton songs. By old school I mean these songs come from the beginning era of what we now know as Reggaeton. This genre is very polemic in Hispanic culture as it tends to be extra sensual, crude and vulgar. The tropical beats and smooth voices are easy to listen to, but the implications of the lyrics will leave any conservative person cringing. You may hear the younger generation blasting this music but let me tell you... I won't listen to this when I'm with my mom!
1. Mayor que Yo - Wisin y Yandel, Daddy Yankee, Baby Ranks (2005)

El Telefono - Hector Bambino "El Father" (2006) 7. Dile - Don Omar (2003) 8. Yo Quiero Bailar - Ivy Queen (2003) 9. Yo Voy - Zion y Lennox ft Daddy Yankee (2004) 10. Oye Mi Canto - Nore, Nina Sky, Tego Calderon, Gemstar y Big Mato (2004)
